We offer a quality valeting service that’s second to none – have your car cleaned and valeted to a showroom condition.
Your vehicle will receive a full internal and external valet to the highest standard. We use only the highest quality valeting products, and all valets are performed by hand to ensure the best finishes are achieved.

- Hand internal vacuum including mats and boot
- Hand polish and wax to restore colour and finish

At Murray Motors we can protect your manufacturer’s warranty by servicing your car according to the manufacturer’s service schedule. We are committed to help reduce the costs of servicing all vehicles, even those still under warranty from the manufacturer. For regular customers courtesy cars are available subject to availability.

MOT Test Centre
We are a fully authorised and regulated MOT testing centre, with bookings available daily from 8am until 4pm daily (except Sundays).

About The MOT test
The MOT test was first introduced in 1960, and was originally a basic test including brakes, lights and steering check to be carried out when a vehicle was ten years old, and every year thereafter.
The list of items tested has been continually expanded over the years, and the MOT test is now a comprehensive yearly check of your vehicle and it’s safety on the road. Today’s MOT test includes the inspection of:
- Lighting and signalling equipment
- Steering (including suspension)
- Brakes
- Tyres and wheels
- Seat belts
- Body, structure and general items. Includes body and components such as spoilers, bumpers and mirror housings.
- Exhaust, fuel and emissions
- Driver’s view of the road

An MOT can be carried out up to one calendar month prior to the expiry date of your existing MOT certificate, whilst still preserving the anniversary of the expiry date. For example, if your current certificate expires on 20th June, you can take the test between 21st May and 20th June and the new certificate will be valid until 20th June the following year.

Regular brake checks are an important part of the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of your vehicle. Modern braking systems are complicated, including components such as a master cylinder, servo, brake calipers, brake fluid and cylinders, disks, drums, pads and shoes. All of these components are linked by a series of brake hoses and brake pipes which contain brake fluid, ensuring that when you press the brake pedal the vehicle slows down and stops.
Our free brake check can quickly identify any problems before they have the chance to reduce the braking efficiency of your vehicle.
During an MOT test the performance of your vehicle’s braking system is checked on a rolling road to measure the amount of braking force generated while operating the hand and foot brake. The braking force generated is then recorded and compared to the manufacturer’s specified tolerance level. Any reading or imbalance falling outside these tolerance levels will result in an MOT test failure.
As best practice for drivers whose annual mileage is considered average or high (around 8,000 miles per year or more), we recommend that your vehicle’s braking system is checked at least twice a year.
